Who Are Evolution Experience?

Welcome to the official website for The Evolution Experience, Wales’ only international dance music promotion company. We organise dance music events across the United Kingdom and in China, Hong Kong and Japan.

Founded in 2000, we have promoted over fifty large scale, licensed dance music events. Our next event is scheduled to take place in Haverfordwest, Wales on Good Friday, 21st March 2008 at the Matisse Music Venue.

The company was founded eight years ago by life long friends Thomas Sinclair Jnr and John Lee. Assisted by a talented team of DJ’s, MC’s, dancers, promoters, graphic designers, and club décor specialists, Thomas and John have created a unique clubbing brand which has been achieved critical acclaim by the UK dance music press.  Over the years The Evolution Experience series of events has hosted some of the world’s top DJ’s. Artists who have spun their tunes on Evolution’s decks include Alex P, Lisa Pin-up, Lisa Lashes, PPK, Slipmatt, Billy Daniel Bunter, Cosmic Gate, Dave Pearce, Luke Neville, The Knuckleheadz, Rachel Auburn, BK, Nick Sentience, Mark Vedo, Cally & Juice and many many more.  (See Past Events For More Details)

 

Necessity, it’s claimed, is the mother of invention. Well the doyens of West Wales clubbing have certainly been innovating these few months in response to the ever changing needs of West Wales clubbers.

Lets be honest, 8 years ago the poor inhabitants of West Wales were crying out for some decent nights. Of course there were plenty of cheesy discos, but serious clubbers had to travel East to Swansea or Cardiff in order to satisfy their need for some decent tunes. And anyone who has made the trip East on a Friday or Saturday nights knows that an hour bouncing along those lanes is not really fun.

The need to travel east changed abruptly when a few likely lads got together and decided they’d had enough of high-speed trips along bumpy back roads just to find themselves some decent tunes on the weekend. And so Evolution Experience was spawned.

Thomas Sinclair Jnr, ex-manager of Curry’s and organiser of the Gigawatt events in the late 90s and his best mate John Lee took it upon themselves to do something about their bleak social calendars. Thomas explained, “We just set out to fill that void that existed in West Wales clubbing. After going to another Ben Sherman disco we just thought there has to be something better than this – and so we started our own event.”
The first Evolution Experience club night held at on 5th August 2000, built upon the knowledge the boys had gathered over the previous three years Resident DJ Escher recalls the event, before he became part of the organizational team. "I had been to many dance nights in Pembrokeshire, all of them poorly organized and promoted, and I remember driving down to the event expecting about fifty people to be there. When I got there and saw nearly six hundred I was absolutely gob smacked. I knew then I had to be part of it".
So far the stable has brought the eager clubber of West Wales a whole plethora of DJ delights including the talents of Graham Gold, BK, Slipmatt and the Knuckleheadz. They have proved that West Wales can secure the big names and players. But 21st March 2008 sees them reach the next stage in their evolution take place.

The Kings, their previous home, has been demolished now and the boys have found a new home for their come back gig. The team has secured the largest club in West Wales, Matisse Music Venue in Haverfordwest and will be transforming it into something very special for their Good Friday Bash. Details have not yet been announced so keep checking back for more information. Pembrokeshire’s first true Evolution Experience event since 2002 is bound to be a very special night.
